Bruce Willis is one of the richest stars in Hollywood today. He was born 65 years ago in the small German town of Idar-Oberstein between Trier and Mainz. His father was a US soldier in Germany who married a German woman.
But Bruce Willis cannot remember his first time in Germany because the family emigrated to the USA early on and settled in New Jersey. Bruce grew up there. As a child and adolescent, from the ages of 9 to 17, he struggled with a severe stutter. That only changed on the theater stage - the stuttering was gone! This also put an end to bullying at school and young Bruce Willis launched his film career. But the beginning was difficult. He discovered his talent early on, but had to work hard for it. He wanted to finance his acting lessons himself and worked as a security guard for a chemical plant.

1988 Bruce Willis participated in the first film Die Hard and made his big break in the film industry. The role of police officer John McClane was made for him. The strip was so successful that four sequels followed in 2013. And more action, drama and romantic comedy movies such as The Last Boy Scout: The Goal is Survival (1991) and Death Becomes Her (1992 ). In 1994 he played the role of the boxer Butch in the film Pulp Fiction by the genius director Quentin Tarantino. Bruce Willis thus became popular with audiences and film critics. Then other blockbusters followed like 12 Monkeys (1995), The Fifth Element (1997) and Armageddon- The Last Judgment (1998). His latest hit is the movie Motherless Brooklyn (2022).
