Bake and lovingly decorate a creative Easter basket
Bake the Easter nest - chocolate cake with mini Easter egg candies
The ingredients:
- 250 g dark chocolate, chopped
- 120g softened uns alted butter
- 6 Eggs
- 185 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Glaze
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups (500ml) thickened cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 250g Pack Small Sugar Coated Chocolate Easter Eggs
Fresh ingredients, delicious treat!
Preparation:
1. Step:
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line the bottom of a 9" springform pan with parchment paper, but do not grease the sides of the springform pan. Place the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water (don't let the bowl touch the water) until the butter and chocolate melt. Stir vigorously to get a smooth consistency.
2. Step:Separate four of the eggs. Place the egg whites in a bowl and beat with a mixer until fluffy. Gradually add 1 cup (110g) powdered sugar and whisk well again until the whites hold their shape but are still not too stiff. All aside lay.
3. Step:
In a separate bowl, beat the four egg yolks with the two remaining whole eggs and the remaining powdered sugar. Gently fold in the chocolate mixture. To make the chocolate mixture a little lighter, add some egg whites and then fold in the rest of the egg whites. Pour into the prepared cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until cake has risen and cracked. The center on the surface should no longer wobble. Remove the springform from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool.
Feast together in good company
To glaze the cake, carefully remove it from the pan and place on a plate or cake stand. Place the chocolate for the topping in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water until melted (don't let the bowl touch the water). Allow chocolate to cool slightly.
5. Step:
Whip the thickened cream until stiff, then add the vanilla and fold into the chocolate. Fill the shallow cavity of the cake with the chocolate cream, gently smooth out towards the edges and decorate with mini Easter egg candies. Gorgeous!
